MY HEART ACHES TODAY

OK friends I am going to be a total downer right now, but I am so mad and so sad at the same time that I really feel I have to put this out there. There are three things in my life that are a constant for me...God, my family and my military family. Recently in the news there is a man whose son was killed on active duty serving in Iraq in 2006. When this child/man, he was 20 so he is a child to me, was brought home to be laid to rest by his parents a church group Westboro Babtist Church from Kansas protested outside this Marine's funeral. The images of signs that say "God hates soldiers" was probably the one that got me the most, but there were plenty of others here's some samples..."God loves IEDs", "God loves dead soldiers", "Thank God for dead soldiers"....absolutely disgusting and makes me wanna cry every time I hear and see these because I know my God is far from what these people are calling truth. They are actually protesting against homosexuals and say that God is punishing America and that's why we are at war. Now how they are thinking it's to do this at a funeral is beyond me, but they do and they are unfortunately getting the attention they want, but in any case Albert Snyder Matthew's father is taking this group to the Supreme Court and the case was approved to be heard yesterday. He trying to make it so this group can't protest at these service member's funerals. I for one am going to contribute to this cause by donating 10% of my website sales to this cause and I encourage you to contribute if you can or at least go to Mr Snyder's website. There is a link there where you can find the contact information for your state representatives and you can let them know how you feel on this issue. The website address is http://www.matthewsnyder.org/index.html and maybe send an encouraging word to this family. What a personal sacrifice they have already made and continue to make. Thanks for listening!!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend and remember the sacrifice our Lord made for us as well on Good Friday. God bless you all and God bless our service members who are serving to protect our freedoms that some take for granted and use irresponsibly. God bless America!!

NEW WEBSITE UP AND RUNNING!!

Well I finally got this thing up and running. Let me say that loading products up on a website is not my favorite thing to do and it's kind of like the laundry it never seems to be finished, but then again, I love adding new stuff for folks to see and hadn't updated my old site in so long that this site will seem like this is the first time I have had a website. I have to give most of the credit to Bebe from Off the Beaten Path Designs she is a genius!! Not to mention super patient. She had designed the graphics for my first site, but when I found out that I could also host my site with her I decided what a great time for an update. She did almost everything for me, short of loading and if I would have paid her I bet she would have done that too, cause I sure wouldn't expect anyone to do it for free!! Anyway, if you are thinking about a new website, freshening up the old like me definitely drop her a line or check out her site at http://www.offthebeatenpathdesigns.com/shop/ you will not be disappointed. So please stop by my new site and let me know what you think!! The address is still the same http://www.signsofpatriotism.com Well folks I am off to lunch with the daughter in law. Hope you are all having a great day and having wonderful sunny weather to enjoy!! Til next time.......

HOPPY SPRING!!

I hope everyone is having a great day and spring weather!! I have been busy here as usual with more than one project. I think I have ADD and it is impossible for me to concentrate on only one thing at a time. Sorry Terry I guess you do after all get it from your Mom, love ya son!! The most exciting news is that I am working on a new website with new graphics and am LOVE LOVE LOVING it!! I am shooting to launch the 1st of April so please check it out. I was worried I might be losing some with the old graphics and that folks thought I only made military signs and that's not the case at all. So to add to the many new military signs I have I will be getting my everyday for every person signs on this new site for all to enjoy. Not too mention that my military enjoy a sign that is not necessarily military themed as well, LOL. So I hope it is well received. I will also be venturing into some cyber parties product parties so stay tuned for the details on that!! So I am off to do some painting and wait for some deliveries. I hope you and your families are well!! Take care!!

NEW STORE PICS!! COME SEE WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO!!

Well guys here's some new pics of inside the store, more specifically my red room. I love my red room!! This is the display my friend Dee at Icehouse Crafts helped me come up with. Still needs a little work cause the signs keep sliding down, but it's getting there and at least those darn things are inventoried, LOL, but as you can see there are still several items that have not made it to the
racks as I have run out of space. The other pic is of one of my picket fence displays. I have 3 of these FULL!! Super excited that there isn't a spare inch of space to be filled that will look so good for the Grand Opening!! T
he next pic is a prim bench that hubby made over the summer. Still some work on this display to do, but it's coming along. Love the prim doll my friend Joan Minervini from Vintage Keepsake Trunk on Etsy is consigning with us. It is one of many many treasures she has sent us to sell for her. Anywho, just wanted to show you all what I had been working on this week. Slowly but surely we are getting closer to an opening date. I will update later as the rest of the store comes together. Thanks for following and for all the prayers!! I think this week we are going to need them, lol!!
